peter, has left the building

so sunday morning - no rain (no sun either) - i get up at 9:30 and decide i’m going to go to this church that i found online that has an english service. its starts at 10:40 and i think i can make it i looked it up on the map and it was a fare distance away maybe three or four miles, but i think i can make it. so i take a quick shower write down the directions in lieu of taking a big map (i do have my little map that covers my neighborhood and surrounding area)

so i hit the street and realize i’ve forgotten the directions. i didn’t want to trudge back up to the apartment on the 17th floor. i figure i’ve got a pretty good fix on where it is so i go it alone. i allowed myself to be thrown at an intersection, the street i was traveling on was supposed to terminate at another cross street. well rather than continuing on with what i knew, i took a left. i knew this street paralleled the one i would have turned at had i continued straight. things got a bit confusing from there as i came to some major streets that i didn’t recognize the names of i followed this one street that skirted the central park. i knew that i needed to go right to get to the street i needed. i finally made a combination of lefts and right and got my self to a large bollard with a name i didn’t recognize.

i continued down that street till it went over an even bigger street which started to walk along but it didn’t seem right. i actually ended up on the cross street that i needed to get to the street where the church was, but at this point i had confused myself, i may have been within a quarter mile of the church, i must have been a half an hour late at that point also. (i didn’t know any of this as i was geographically lost, directionally i knew how to get back)
